HONG KONG

We went to Hong kong for 5 days after Dubai. It was good for shopping. There weren't many nice views. Customer services was not very good at some places. the hotel was old and services were poor. Not many speak English on the street. i had to struggle to communicate in Cantonese. My fault for not learning the language when i was younger. It's not late but difficult now.

We met up with Tiep. She lives in Hong Kong. She took us around a bit, and we went to Lantao island to see the bronze sitting buddha. Unfortunately it was raining and cold. We went to a nice restaurant, but because of no booking and the restaurant was popular it took us more than an hour to get in. Actually most restaurants are not very nice. you have to know the right one, otherwise the foods can be really bad. On the street We tried " tou tofu' which is stingy tofu...tau hu thui...And it sure is very" thui".

We also went to Macau, with its portugal influence in culture arts, and language. we saw the Maria Quan Am, teh casinos, and saw bungee jumping at the center point tower. Also went to a few temples, to pay respect to Quan Cong...etc..

DUBAI_ FDI 2007

October 2007....My dentist friend Quan, and i decided to go to Dubai for 5 days FDI. It's much anticipated as Dubai was red hot on tourist number 1 list. That was my thought of it. Especially been following tennis tournaments, and Federer has been winning there. The photos of Burj Al Arab was so appealing. An icon for the new millenium.

They were building the world tallest skyscraper, and we were fortunate to also booked a hotel next to it. Our hotel was SofiutelThe Old Palace, and it was located in the Old City. however apparently it was only completed in July. Swimming in evening and seeing Burj Dubai above was a nice view. The foods served at breakfast was nice and we met a Vietnamese girl name Ngoc. She's there for 2 yrs.

Over in Dubai, we met up with Kathy and Barnard and Aniket and Shuvra.
